Sanatan: Hindu Calendar 2026 — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy is about Sanatan: Hindu Calendar 2026 (“Sanatan”) — the Hindu calendar, panchang, kundli and Live Darshan app (Android package com.sangam.scripture.hindu, iOS bundle com.sangam.scripture.hindu). Sanatan is one of the Ario Apps. Unlike most of our other apps, Sanatan shows ads, so its policy differs from the Ario Apps policy in the way it handles advertising. This page is the policy that applies to Sanatan.
Who we are
- On Google Play, Sanatan: Hindu Calendar 2026 is published by the developer Cricket Exchange Live.
- On the Apple App Store, Sanatan is published by Autosphere Tech Private Limited.

Summary
- No account, login, phone number or email address is needed to use Sanatan.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Sanatan is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads are personalised only if you agree where the law or the platform asks us to ask (consent form in the EEA/UK, and Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt on iPhone). If you decline, you still get ads, but they are not personalised.
- Your saved kundlis stay on your phone. Their birth details are sent to our server only to calculate a chart, and are not stored there.
What we collect, and why
- Your city. You choose a city for sunrise, sunset and Rahu Kaal times. If you tap Use my location, the app asks for approximate location once, matches it on your phone to the nearest city in its list, and keeps only that city. Your coordinates are not stored and not uploaded. When the app asks our server for the day’s panchang or content, it sends the chosen city or time zone, the date and your language so the right day can be returned.
- Usage analytics. The app sends short, first-party event records to our own server — for example that a screen was opened, a Live Darshan session started, or an ad was shown. Each batch carries a randomly generated install ID (not your name, email or any advertising ID), plus your device model, operating system version, app version, language and time zone. Events carry only a fixed set of coarse values; the app is built to reject names, birth details, search text, photos, e-mail addresses and locations. The iPhone app has a Share usage statistics switch in Settings → Privacy.
- Crash and performance diagnostics. We do not use a third-party crash-reporting SDK. On iPhone the app reads Apple’s MetricKit reports (crash and performance summaries) and forwards coarse event counts through the same analytics channel. Apple and Google may also give us crash information through App Store Connect and Google Play Console if you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers.
- Feedback you send. If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message and the app version, language, device model and the screen you were on (on Android also the Android version). It does not include your name, email or any ID, so please do not put personal details in the message. If we cannot reach you, we cannot reply — include an email address in the text if you want an answer.
- Kundli (birth details). The name, date, time and place of birth you enter are saved on your phone only (on Android in an encrypted store protected by the device keystore). To draw a chart, the app sends the birth date, time, time zone and the coordinates and height of the chosen place — not the name — to our server, which calculates the result and returns it. The server does not save the request (our calculation service is built stateless), and the request does not carry your install ID. The place search for the birth place uses a city list on our server; the text you type is used only to find matches.
- Kundli Milan (match-making) works the same way: the two sets of birth details are used to calculate a result and are not stored by us.
- AI Status images (Android). If you use the AI Status feature, the photo you pick and the template you choose are sent to our server and on to a third-party AI image service to make the picture. We do not keep a copy. Do not upload photos of people who have not agreed to it.
- Darshan Pass invites and referrals. Sanatan lets you invite friends and earn extra Live Darshan time or ad-free days. For this the app sends our server the random install ID, your invite code, the code and click ID carried in the install link of a friend who invited you, the app version, and (Android) a SHA-256 hash of the device’s Android ID, which our server stores only as a keyed hash to stop the same device claiming rewards twice. The server also keeps keyed hashes of the network address prefix and browser identifier of an invite-link click for the same anti-abuse purpose. We keep counts of verified invites; we never receive your contacts, and we never see who you share the link with.
- Live Darshan. Temple streams are relayed through our servers so the temples’ own sources are not overloaded. The temple streams shown in Sanatan are shown with the permission of the temples concerned. When you watch, we record a session: the temple, time, video quality, app version, a daily-salted hash of your install ID and your network address shortened (for example to its first three numbers), used to count viewers, limit abuse and manage the free daily minutes. If you report a problem with a stream, we keep the report with the shortened address. These session records are not linked to your name. Free-minutes counters are deleted after three days.
- Purchases. Sanatan has no in-app purchases or subscriptions, so no payment data is collected.
Ads, consent and tracking
Sanatan uses Google AdMob to show banner, large-banner, interstitial, app-open and rewarded ads. On Android, ads are limited to content rated G. AdMob may collect device and usage information — such as your advertising ID, IP address, device details and how you interact with ads — to deliver and measure ads, to prevent fraud and, where you have agreed, to personalise ads. Information is handled under Google’s advertising policy and Google’s Privacy Policy.
- EEA, UK and similar regions. Sanatan uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to show a consent form. Ads are requested only as your choice allows. You can change it later from Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy when that option is offered.
- iPhone. Sanatan asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you tap Ask App Not to Track, the advertising ID is not used and ads are not personalised. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your phone’s Settings → Google → Ads.
Because personalised ads can involve tracking across other companies’ apps and sites, the statement in the general Ario Apps policy that we do not use data for cross-app advertising tracking does not apply to Sanatan’s ads; this page does. Our own analytics (above) are never used for advertising.
Notifications
Sanatan asks permission to send reminders (for example daily prayer, festival and Darshan reminders). The reminders are scheduled on your phone; we do not send remote push messages, and no push token is collected. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone’s settings. Android also uses a foreground service so aartis keep playing with the screen off, and a start-up receiver to reschedule reminders after a reboot.
Permissions
- Internet — to fetch content, Live Darshan and ads.
- Approximate location — optional, once, only when you tap Use my location.
- Notifications — optional, for reminders.
- Vibration, wake lock, foreground media service, change wallpaper (Android) — for playback and the wallpaper feature you choose to use.
- Advertising ID / App Tracking — only as described above.
Who receives data
- Google (AdMob and the User Messaging Platform) — ads and consent.
- Apple and Google Play — app distribution; install-referrer information on Android for invite links.
- Our hosting provider — our servers run on rented infrastructure; it processes data for us.
- A third-party AI image service — only for the Android AI Status feature, on our behalf, not for its own advertising.
We do not sell personal data.
Data retention
On-device data (saved kundlis, city, settings, saved items) stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Analytics, feedback and invite records on our servers are kept only as long as needed to run and improve the app and prevent abuse, and then deleted or reduced to counts. Darshan free-minute counters are removed after three days. Ad data kept by Google follows Google’s own policies.
Deleting your data
You can delete a saved kundli inside the app, and uninstalling Sanatan removes everything stored on your phone. To ask us to delete anything held on our servers, see Delete your Sanatan data or email support@arioapps.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or withdraw consent for personalised ads, and to complain to your data-protection authority. Because we do not hold your name or email, we may ask you for your invite code or install ID shown in the app to find your records. Email support@arioapps.com to make a request.
Children
Sanatan is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our servers and our providers (including Google) may be in countries other than yours. Where the law requires, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
